9ct Amethyst in a lovely retro buttercup setting with beaded detailing on the shoulders for added interest.
The stone is a lovely soft lilac Amethyst in great condition and a decent size approximately 12mm x 10mm.
This ring is a size N.5 or 7US and has full hallmarks including makers marks
Hallmarked including makers mark G&T.J, the Crown and 375 for 9ct gold and the leopards head to show it was hallmarked in London. The letter Q shows it was assayed in 1990. Its buttercup setting gained popularity in the Victorian era which dates back to 1837.
The amethyst is the birthstone for February and is commonly associated with royalty thanks to its purple coloring, amethysts have been used to symbolize deep love, happiness, humility, sincerity, and wealth for centuries.
